Exercised a lot this weekend. Went skiing (not a skier). It was really a lot of work. There were so many times I was afraid of the downhill. Then we took a really long walk and pushed a car out of the snow. It was awesome to walk around a frozen lake. When I told my friend we did that, she freaked out and said she was less scared of skiing. But if they put a snow mobile on it, it should hold, right?
Today was a great day. I went out walking with a friend at her lunch hour. One hour. It was great! I really miss having a gym buddy.
Still haven't been able to make myself get up on my work weeks. Must figure out a way to do that! I figure my 12 year old trainer will help with that!
Where am I? 515/1680. Far behind
I have decided to start moving. I stopped when I developed plantar fasciitis and figured that I needed to be held publically accountable for my exercise. Waking up and going to the gym will be my new priority!

JFDI
Ugh. Another work week without any exercise. I'm really bummed. I'm sitting up early (I always wake up early) thinking I should have gone exercising. Now is it too late? I don't know. I'm waiting on people to get up.
Just read a 'motivational' webside. My new motto about exercise--JFDI. Just do it..... :)

School in summer.
So those jeggins/pajama jeans god-awful things are back at the gym. I went to Zumba today and my instructor was wearing these jeggins/pajama jeans with a zumba label on the butt. She looked like a backup dancer for DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince. I can't figure out who wants to wear jeans at the gym. I know if you look good you feel good, but it was sooooo distracting with that look. Fitted Yoga Pants, check. Cute top, check. Sports bra to harness the girls, check. Jeggins and a muscle tee? Uh.... It's Zumba. You're supposed to look hot, not like a Jersey Shore extra!
I bought my heart rate monitor. It scares me. A lot. You have to wet it and wash it. This is the level of commitment I've been avoiding..... I know, I know, I have to do it. It's important. I'm going to set it up tonight.
Zumba for 60 minutes. Played with the foam roller. Got a 'real' massage and it was blissful.
295/1680. Not bad for the 4th of the month!

Personal training truths....
Ugh... this guy is different. In different I mean, he's gonna kick my heiney into next year. I'm hearing "Hurt So Good" in my head. And I'm a little scared.
2 things He's told me that I need:
1. A heart rate monitor. I've known for a long time that this is only going to work if I push myself. Somehow I've deluded myself into thinking that I don't need one. I'm looking at a FT7 polar tech. My friend swears by one.
2. A foam rub. I know, I know, sounds really dirty. Apparently this is part of stretching. Since I don't do any stretching at all, this is essential to start. He wants me to start using these foam things to rub big muscle groups. He tried the 'medium' one on me and it wasn't too bad. So I'll see if I can get one for myself.
I thought that I would be doing a work out with him, turns out we didn't. So I did 10 minutes on the treadmill, met my friend and walked 120 minutes in the city. In the *freezing* cold!
235/1680. I'm ahead! :)

So I danced with this FABULOUS guy
At a woman's retail store. He said he loved my coach purse because he loved orange. We both did a little shimmy to the Spice Girls "Wanna Be". He said it just made people want to dance.
I went in for a little pick me up. And the boots I wanted didn't fit. So I bought a belt (I actually needed a brown one, I got rid of my brown one when it broke) and tried to make do. That guy and his bump and grind did it better.
I'm glad I went for the retail therapy. Frankly, I would've just had something sweet and bad for me previous to this last week. Bonus, I stuck with my exercise even though I didn't 'want' to. I did my 60 minutes today. Did 4.64 miles on the elliptical. And I had yogurt with granola as my after exercise snack, not the chocolate cake that is calling my name......
Tomorrow I see my trainer! I has to be on.....

Yesterday there was a girl at the gym wearing pajama jeans!
Sad, huh? And they are NOT flattering. Not as bad as the whole 'jeggin' craze, but not something you should wear out of the comfort of your own home. I mean I guess I get the whole desire to wear comfy jeans, but isn't sweatpants that look like jeans a license to gain weight? I have jeans that fit so I don't! Or before I just bought bigger ones..... I'm done with that!
So I finally have the computer up and running. I only skipped 2 days in January, both were after I spent an hour shoveling all the ridiculous amounts of snow, so I figured I had 'earned' it. When I attempted to roll out of bed the morning after shoveling 16 inches of heavy snow and my fingernails hurt, I just couldn't do it. I know, that's really bad. Ishould will aim for 30 a day and be happy when I get more. Some days it's not going to happen, no matter what I do, so I have a new plan. In addition, I'm getting rid of the "should's" in my life!
This month I'm aiming for 60 minutes a day, which is 1680 minutes this month. This means there will be days of 20's and days of 100's. To further strenthen my goals, today I went to the gym and scheduled a personal training session. He's going to give me work outs for my 'on' week. I just hope he's a fit.
While I was there, I only did 45 minutes. I was just really frustrated. I know, I know, excuses, but it really was frustrating. First, all the lockers in the women's room that locked were taken. There were NOT that many people at the gym. Who takes all these lockers? And why don't they fix that? I'd gladly pay for a locker there, my Dad's done it for years, so I didn't have to schlep everything to the gym. But these are 'daily use' lockers. Working on feeling less righteous. It doesn't help my workouts.
So, I went outside and locked my stuff out there. Because of this locker thing, I'm late to the water aerobics class and there are all these old biddies who are just talking as they laze around the pool. I'm trying to get around them, to actually get a workout in, and they had the audacity to frown at me! Go to Starbucks if you just want to chat. Also, the one guy there was getting hit on to beat the band..... I felt like we needed a shuffleboard on the Leo Deck. Julie? Julie?!
The workout totally degenderates to a paddle and I'm ouf of there. I then change and got on the treadmill. I actually jogged for 2 minutes! I'm so proud of myself, although my foot is starting to hurt again*. So the 'closer' comes on and I try to plug in and shut the whole machine down. WTH? I restarted on a different treadmill to find I lost my locker key. I found it at the desk and decided I was outtie.
I wouldn't recover from that comedy of errors. Next time I'll laugh and find a better song to get back on again...... And I'll run 3 minutes! 1680 minutes a month is the goal. I'm at 45/1680
*my workouts got derailed last year because of a nasty case of plantar fasciitis.
